The Broomfield Bay Aquatic Park
Fantastic place for family swim fun. Several pool areas; tot pool; zero depth entry play area; slides. Lots of covered areas. Huge grassy area. Can bring your own food and spend the day.
Your entire family will love the Paul Derda Rec Center. There is an activity or class for all ages. You can also just enjoy it on your own. The pool is exciting with a long “river” to float through and multiple swimming lanes.
It is new, clean and the staff are well trained to teach many classes.
On Friday night the teens gather for a fun-filled time. Good way to make new friends if you’re new in town or just passing there.
It’s definitely one of the “best” of Broomfield to visit..
This is the first 9/11 Memorial I have visited on the continental United States. This memorial is a little of the beaten path. So much so that when I asked for directions from the hotel staff they did not know it existed. I had learned of its existence through Trip Advisor.
The memorial is comprised of three statues. One is of civilians helping eachother walk away from the carnage. The second if of an exhausted firefighter leaning on a piece of steel from the World Trade Center. A police officer comforting a child is the third statue.
There are also three tableaus depicting the World Trade Center, Pentagon and the field in Pennsylvania where one of the hijacked flights crashed.
This memorial is in a very peaceful setting that assists one in reflecting respectfully on the events of that terrible day and upon those who lost their lives..
